I am so excited to (finally) finish this faux fireplace tutorial for yall. This project is simple, and it’s not fancy. I love it because it is a basic, cheap DIY that you can easily take and mold to your own style. I keep our home decorated fairly clean and simple. I like a lot of straight lines, which ends up meaning that things are often easy to build. Things are also often easy to build because I am NOT a master DIY-er or handywoman (and neither is my husband). I am going to share with you how we did it. Disclaimer: I am sure there are more “official” or “proper” ways of doing it. But that brings me back to my previous statement. I am not a master. This way worked great for us! This is for anyone else out there who wants to DIY, but needs to keep it easy!
Fun fact: We spend an average of 122 days a year sleeping. That’s ONE THIRD of our life. What. Mind is kinda blown. With that said, sleep hygiene is so important. A couple of years ago, I started sleeping terribly. I wouldn’t have trouble falling asleep, but I just could not stay asleep. Once that started happening, I had to trial and error so. many. things. to help me get rest! Tried melatonin — didn’t work. Tried white noise — didn’t work. But today I’m going to share with you what did work AND where to get sheets that help you sleep better. Cheers to that. Click below to see more!

Hope yall enjoy!
Hi all! Currently sitting in my pajamas with an “I-work-night-shift” hangover. Two weeks until day shift and I can’t wait. Recently, I have been getting a lot of questions about how to grow your Instagram account. Like so many that I put out a poll in my Insta stories to see if you guys wanted to see a blog post about it. And the overwhelming answer was a YES. Now, I don’t have hundreds of thousands of followers and I just started really doing thing Instagram thing in October, but I will definitely share with y’all what I have found that works and what I have found that did not work! Keep in mind, what works for me might not work for you 100%, but I sure hope it does and that you are able to walk away from this blog post with a little bit of insight into how to grow!
I don’t know about y’all, but I am a liiiiittle obsessed with Amazon Prime. I mean.. free two-day shipping, great pricing, and literally everything I want with just a click. It’s kind of a problem. You know that “please hide packages from husband” doormat? I feel like I need that thanks to good old Amazon Prime. I can’t be alone in this, right!? Either way, I put together a list of my current Amazon faves! I hope you like it 🙂
We bought a builder-grade house. And (surprise) it came with builder-grade mirrors. You know, the plain-jane mirrors connected by the little clips. I knew that I wanted to do SOMETHING to make them look better. I contemplated buying new mirrors altogether, which was turning out to be very expensive. So I searched for a more budget-friendly alternative! One of my Instagram buddies, @societyofsumner, had posted how she framed her builder-grade mirrors. Hers came out so good. And I knew I had to do it! I did a little internet search and there are A LOT of people who have done this in various ways. I’m going to share with y’all how I did it. And if you aren’t already wondering… the whole project cost me about $75 for both bathrooms! Continue reading

Y’all know I love a good deal, and these are ALL under $50. Scout’s honor. You’ll find Spring & Easter in here and I hope you like it. I have purchased a lot of things from this list, so if you have any questions, ask away!

Currently enjoying this view for a couple more days. Yes, Christmas is over. But we wait till January 1st to take down the tree! Taking down my Christmas decorations always makes me a liiiiittle sad. Christmas is so magical and it always goes by too quickly! I have loved the time we spent with our family and friends and I enjoyed every second. But when one season ends, another begins. And I am so excited for the new year and to see what 2019 brings. This morning when I checked my emails, there were sale alerts all over the place. We’ve had Black Friday sales, cyber monday sales, and “last minute” sales. And now there are after Christmas sales! In honor of those after-Christmas sales, I’ve rounded up both my favorite clothing & home buys that are on sale! Click read more to see 🙂
The temperatures have dropped as low as 15 degrees in North Idaho so that inspired me to share with y’all my cold weather must haves! Growing up in Southern California, I had no real cold weather clothes. My idea of cold was high 50s low 60s. So I have slowly collected an arsenal of cozy, toasty, warm stuff. Dick’s Sporting Goods is 20% off online today (including sale!) with free shipping so I have collected my favorite cold weather must haves from their website to share with you! This post is not sponsored by Dick’s. I just love a good sale + they have a freaking good selection.
Cyber Monday. Guys. There’s so many different sales going on. It’s almost overwhelming. Nevertheless, they are GREAT sales.
